Tejay Van Garderen is, for me, the only man who can beat Wiggins tomorrow. He will love this long TT and he is in great form after three weeks of race. But the most important against Millar is that he has a great motivation because he can win a place in the general classification when Millar had nothing to hope because he is not at his old level in TT.

DENIS MENCHOV VS MICHELE SCARPONI:

Menchov lost time in the Alps but he stills play the general classification to enter in the top 10, Scarponi don’t. Scarponi can take an escape and I think Menchov will follow the leaders but Scarponi starts to feel that he rides the Giro too when Menchov, who is prepared for the Tour, loves the third week of the “Grand Tour” that he rides.

Wiggins is always in very good position for sprints like we will have tomorrow. We saw that the tree last days with tree winnings bets with him. For tomorrow I advise you Wiggins to beat Brajkovic. The odd is good because in the beginning of the Tour Brajkovic takes good places in sprint but now Wiggins is in better and better position and it is the contrary for Brajkovic.

Tour de France Stage 13 Betting tips

VICTORY:

The “Mont Saint Clair” is a climb more difficult than it seems on the paper. It’s very sloped and not short. Some portions up to 20%. The sprinters who are not good climbers will lose position in the pack and could be taken in groups behind the pack. Particularly with the descent that is sloped too and after that take place in the pack will be difficult and will be paid by big efforts because before le Cap d’Agde we have a road on the coast very exposed to the wind. I speak for Cavendish and Greipel. I think Goss and even more Sagan will play the victory tomorrow.

Ok, this stage have many chance to be win by a breakie but, if it is not the case, there is only one possibility: Peter Sagan. And the Liquigas want to win one more stage and assure the green jersey. It is very possible that they work to take the escape. An escape that will not be a big escape like it was in the last days. Because Sky wants not let many riders take time for the overall.

I think Nibali is really underestimated since the start of this Tour de France. Why couldn’t he be at the level of the best in the Tour as he was in some Giro and Vuelta? Evans is not a lover of the big high mountain even if that is his only chance to beat Wiggins, and I think he can be out of the fight tomorrow and loose the Tour 2012. Nibali have many chances to beat him tomorrow.

Two French “Baroudeurs” that we can see escape tomorrow. Both of us seem in great shape after a good TT for Chavanel and for Casar that we were not excepting at such a level in TT. But tomorrow there is High Mountain with “Le Grand Colombier” and it is at the advantage of Casar.

Between these two very good climbers, near of the same position in the overall standing, and in the same shape, one question: “Who likes big slope?” A very important question because they are very big sloped portions in the “Planche des Belles Filles.” Long portion of 10-11% and short of 20% in the end! My answer is Nibali is better than Van den Broeck in big slope. It is that we saw in the sloped arrival in the other Grands Tours, Giro and Vuelta of the past years.

Not so many real climbers in this Tour de France, and even less who likes big sloped. But I find two of them: Valverde and Mollema. They fall today but without anything broken and they have shown a great shape in this Tour de France. Particularly Mollema always good placed in all stages. For me, these two riders are the perfect kind of cyclist for this climb.

VICTORY:

Third days I say the same thing: « I imagine Greipel win ». He shows today that he can avoid crashes with a great show and I keep all my confidence after this great win in another way that in Rouen. He wasn’t in a train, he succeed to exit of the pack with more speed than Cavendish who can nothing against Greipel as Goss or the others. Can Greipel win again tomorrow? I think so and the weather will be good at the finish, always better.

[EDIT] 2/4 today but with a big value on the victory.

VICTORY:

We saw today that Greipel is able to win without Cavendish, and we saw in Tournai he can be second a few centimeters behind Cavendish who follow him in the sprint. So, I think Greipel can wins again in Saint-Quentin tomorrow. In additional, the last road is not flat but climb of 2-3% perfect for a big sprinter like him, because he has more power than Cavendish. Cavendish is a pure sprint with the biggest speed but on the flat because he is very aerodynamic even if he has a lesser power than Greipel or Hushovd a few years ago.

TOM VEELERS VS PETER SAGAN:

Veelers finishes before Sagan in the two sprints but tomorrow the finish with a climb of 2-3% is a little help for Sagan to beat Veelers and maybe the others sprinters. In additional, Marcel Kittel recovers a little and it is not impossible he sprints tomorrow, in this case, Veelers will be only a teammate.

The kind of injury let him ride a stage normally but he will probably let the peloton go in the last kilometers when it has high speed and effort to make.

I am agreeing that Peter Sagan is the favorite of this stage, but who can ignore Gilbert for a stage build like an Andrennaise classic. When I see this stage I think of the Amstel Gold Race, the road is very near of that classic, the one that suits perfectly Gilbert. With big slope in climbs before the finish, a sprint is not sure, even if I think that the breakies can’t win. Sagan needs a sprint to win, but Gilbert have many possibilities and he has learn of the stage of Seraing…

The thinking still the same this stage looks like a Classic. And who was on the front of Liège-Bastogne-Liège and recovers a big shape? So with an odd of 2.84 for Nibali, don’t hesitate.

Mark Cavendish to win:

Mark Cavendish is in a great shape, he will be unstoppable in Tournai. He has never been so skinny and motivated another thing who impressed his rivals on the road and off the road. He don’t have a big sprint team like past years, that’s probably the reason of his high odd (in comparison with past years) but he still has some great cyclist to lead his train and that’s why my advice is:

Fabian Cancellara vs Nicholas Roche:

I know that Roche is often in a good position in the sprints, more than Cancellara. But here we have a special condition. Cancellara wear the yellow jersey. We saw him today at the attack and he is not going to finish in the depth pack tomorrow. Since he has no pure sprinter in his team, he can make the sprint (we know he can), or attack in the last kilometer or follow the sprint and finish in the first twenty position. Bet on the yellow jersey, he’s so motivated!

Kenny Van Hummel vs Yauheni Hutarovich:

These two guys seem to be in the same shape and maybe with the same skills in sprint. But Hutarovich has a big advantage: his team. She will be dedicated to him to make the best results in sprint. I’m sure he will do many top 10 in this Tour de France. Van Hummel has Boeckmans in his team a very impressive young sprinter for which one he will has to work or let the teammates at least.

Here we have two very important teammates of very important sprinters. Oss has to make the sprint for Sagan who thinks of the green jersey and Boasson Hagen take part of the Sky of Cavendish. But will he work for him? Cavendish will have Eisel and we don’t know if Hagen will take part of the train. So an odd superior than 2 is always a good deal.
